UIC Engineering High School Institute
The Engineering High School Institute is a four-week summer program designed to expose 10th and 11th graders to principles of engineering concepts. Students learn digital electronics, a subject taught at UIC, and visit local corporations to explore the applications of engineering in industry.
Preparation for Majoring in Engineering (PREP-ME)
Prep-ME is a six-week summer program designed to introduce new UIC engineering students to college-level math and the engineering profession. The primary focus of the program is math instruction. Students also attend seminars on goal setting, study skills, and time management. Students gain an understanding of college requirements and expectations in preparation for their first semester at UIC.

The LEAD Program Partners with the Iowa State University Office of Multicultural Student Affairs to offer The Academic Program for EXcellence (APEX). APEX is an eight-week academic summer program for incoming first-year students of color at Iowa State University. In addition to taking general education courses, APEX students are involved in an array of activities including meeting and networking with faculty and staff committed to students' transition and adjustment to university life and the Iowa State University campus.

AIM (Academically Interested Minorities)
AIM - Academically Interested Minorities is a five-week residential summer program designed to help students of color make a successful transition from high school to college. Students from across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean attend freshman level courses.
LITE (Lives Increased Through Engineering)
LITE is a two-week residential program for young women who have completed the 11th grade. The program focuses on bioengineering and highlights the unique and important contributions bioengineers make when they design products like car seats, crash test dummies, and artificial limbs. Participants take classes and conduct labs in biomechanics, vehicle collision analysis and occupant protection, and biochemistry.
