Unknown Unknowns: Filling Our Knowledge Gaps

Latham B

The purpose of this session is to provide participants with an organizing framework for advancing their understanding of the undergraduate engineering students they serve. In this two-part workshop, Dr. Walter Lee of Virginia Tech and Dr. Jeremi London of Arizona State University will (1) provide an overview of a research study that highlights the major constructs that inform the decision making of student-support practitioners in engineering to help frame a discussion on the areas of knowledge needed to be effective; and (2) help participants identify opportunities for filling their knowledge gaps and more efficiently reading journal articles to pull out the meaningful information.
