Introduction
We are excited about the upcoming National NAMEPA Conference to be held January 23-26, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia! This year's theme is "Sustainability & STEM Programs: Focus on the Future." With the ever-changing landscape in higher education and the global economy, it is
imperative that we continue to identify and share best practices that aid in the production of engineers of color. For more than 28 years, NAMEPA has been recognized as a premier organization in the development and production of a diverse pool of engineers and scientists. Our mission is "to provide quality services, information, and tools for our stakeholders, to produce a
diverse pool of engineers and scientists, and to achieve equity and parity in the nation's workforce."
Conference workshop and seminar sessions will focus on best practices and new initiatives aimed at increasing the numbers of scientists and engineers of color in the nation. Additionally, sessions will focus on research and critical models of successful engineering and science education programs across the nation. Coupled with the exciting sessions and all the wonderful attractions that the City of Atlanta has to offer--this will be one of the most dynamic conferences ever!
We look forward to your participation, come join us!
