About Region E

Founded in 1979, NAMEPA is a national network of educators and representatives from industry, government, and nonprofit organizations who share a common commitment to improving the recruitment and retention of African Americans, Hispanics, and American Indians earning degrees in engineering. As a recognized authority in minority engineering education, NAMEPA promotes the professional development of its members and serves as an advocate for and resource to those programs and organizations that seek to recruit, educate, and employ diverse engineering talent.

NAMEPA makes a difference by …

  • Serving companies by providing direct access to minority engineering talent
  • Training educators including MEP directors and university administrators
  • Supporting students through scholarships and networking opportunities

Region E welcomes also active involvement of community colleges, which are essential in our endeavor to diversify the engineering and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workforce. Perhaps our greatest potential is to serve as a partner with the engineering industry that hires the students nurtured and developed by NAMEPA program directors. We invite industry representatives to reach out to NAMEPA and utilize us in your efforts to diversify your workplace and maintain your technological strength, competitiveness and economic stability. We welcome your involvement, participation and support and we pledge our willingness to share our expertise in moving students through the educational-to-career pipeline.

Region E consists of members from the following states:

Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
